KIANDA TAKES A BRIDE
A folktale from Angola, this piece was originally created and animated in Flash. The dust effects are a Maya particle effect and rendered using Mental Ray.
ANDARE AND THE GIANT
The art style I used for this folktale was inspired by children's programming on PBS. All character and background models were created and animated in Maya. The final composition was put together in AfterEffects.
THE FOUNDERS OF KYIV
This piece consists of artwork generated in Photoshop combined with assets and dynamic simulations created and animated using Maya.
F/A-18 HORNET INTRO VIDEOS
This is a series of intro videos put together in sequence. Each scene was an intro video for online interactive courseware developed for the Department of the Navy. I took an existing F/A-18 model and proceeded to texture it, de-panel it, rig the landing gear, flight control surfaces and engines and animated it according to the storyboards I submitted for approval. I also created the Mig-21 and ZSU-23 from scratch, rigged the ZSU-23 to have fully working suspension and tracks, and created the particle effects as needed. The landing sequence at the end was especially fun and rewarding.
LIP SYNC ANIMATION SAMPLE
This is a sample of some of the lip sync animation I have been tasked with. Given pre-recorded audio tracks, I started with a Autodesk Character Generator and modified the character attributes to match the region of origin of the target language. I then created a facial rig, clothing and a hair system as directed and animated up to 750 different phrases per language. The audio was usually recorded without any emotion, so given the time constraints most of the effort was concentrated on the lip sync without much concern for any other facial expression.

Given pre-recorded audio tracks and a pre-existing military character reused from one language to the next, I would animate up to 750 different phrases per language. SIZE AND AGE OF KENYA'S POPULATION
This piece was a short video on population count. The artwork I generated was based on the art styles of Kenya.
THE FALL OF TYRE
Another video combining 2d and 3d artwork using Maya, Photoshop and AfterEffects
THE HISTORY OF LEBANESE WINE
This video combines photos, 2d motion graphics, .DEM files for terrain and more dynamic simulations animated in Maya. Some of the assets in the video were repurposed from other videos created for the Lebanon Countries In Perspective educational series, such as the boat and the map. The wine cellar, canaanite jar, bottle and wine glass were modeled in Maya and rendered with Mental Ray.
