M3 Halftrack Commission Build

This was another commissioned build. The clients wanted a standard troop transport halftrack, but at the time I could only find the mortar carrier version or this kit. I ended up using that kit, Tamiya's M21 Mortar Carrier Halftrack in 1/35 scale and scratch building the parts needed for the conversion. That included the troop bench seats and seat cushions, as well as 3d design and print of the bed floor plate with stamped pattern, instrument panel, weapons racks behind the troop seats and the road wheels. The machine gun ring was used from another kit with spare parts. The groundwork on the base and weathering was a new venture for me, as well as the home made wooden base that I routed, sanded and sealed in my garage at home.
